Tourists traveling to Southern Algerian destinations, exclusively through approved travel agencies can now apply for visas on arrival at Algerian airports or any other point of entry, for a validity not exceeding 30 days.
This new measure is intended to facilitate touristic travel to the following wilayas (provinces) and municipalities in Southern Algeria: Tamanrasset, Illizi, Tindouf, Adrar, Bechar, Timimoune, Djanet, Bordj Baji Mokhtar, Beni Abbes, Ain Salah, Touggourt. It applies to trips organized solely through travel agencies based in Algeria.
After registration with the travel agency, an official document with a QR code is sent to the tourist by their travel agency, confirming that an entry visa to Algeria has been approved for the holder. This document should be shown to the airline company when boarding, at airport of departure.
Payment of visa fees will be made upon arrival at the point of entry in Algeria.
Tourists heading to other destinations than above-mentioned touristic areas in Southern Algeria, remain subject to the usual visa issuance procedure, through Algerian diplomatic and consular network.
