Mr Lamamra took part in the opening session of the general debate of the General Assembly (GA) under the theme Building Resilience through hope to recover from COVID-19, rebuild sustainably, respond to the needs of the planet, respect the rights of people, and revitalize the United Nations.

On the sidelines of the UN General Assembly works, Mr Ramtane Lamamra held bilateral meetings with his South African, Jordanian, Greek, Irish, Vietnamese, Estonian and Spanish counterparts.
The discussions focused on the bilateral relations and coordination of positions on international and regional issues.
The head of Algerian diplomacy received, at the headquarters of the Algerian Mission to the UN, the secretary general of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM).
He was received by the president of the Libyan Presidential Council to whom he conveyed a message from the president of the Republic, Mr Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
